Judge sentences rap music fan to classical music

I cannot make this kind of stuff up.  In another shining example of legal genius, a judge in Ohio has decided that instead of paying a $150 fine for pumping that ‘rap music’ so loud out of his car and disturbing the peace, the fine will be cut to $35 if the Defendant (Andrew Vactor) would spend 20 hours listening to classical music.

Vactor only lasted 15 minutes listening to the classical music before deciding to pay the fine.  He says it’s just because he had to go to basketball practice and didn’t really want to spend all that time.

Champaign County Municipal Court Judge Susan Fornof-Lippencott says the idea was to force Vactor to listen to something he might not prefer, just as other people had no choice but to listen to his loud rap music.

This is the thing that I find most interesting.  For some reason people were quick to leap to accusations of racism for targeting ‘rap music’ and whatnot,  but I don’t really see it.
